Digital transfers
Over 4 million transactions totaling more than 2 billion yuan ($299 million) have been conducted using China’s digital yuan, Yi Gang, governor of the People’s Bank of China, said. Speaking at the Hong Kong Fintech Week conference on Monday, Yi said the COVID-19 crisis has also accelerated the need for contactless banking, creating challenges for central banks looking to balance consumer needs and safety. That said, the central banker also played down the prospect of an imminent launch, saying the digital yuan project is still in the early stages.
$1B BTC forfeiture
The U.S. government is suing for the forfeiture of thousands of bitcoins, totaling more than $1 billion, that it seized on Tuesday. These bitcoins are said by the U.S. Department of Justice to be connected with the Silk Road marketplace. The address holding the bitcoins has been dormant since 2015, when the coins were transferred to now defunct crypto exchange BTC-e. According to Bloomberg, authorities seized the funds from an unknown hacker who had gained access to the address. The BTC are now likely to be auctioned, reintroducing them to the market supply. Near equivalent amounts of bitcoin gold, bitcoin sv and bitcoin cash were also recovered from the address.

HOW TO BUY BITCOIN WITH CREDIT CARD

HOW TO BUY BITCOIN WITH CREDIT CARD

How Credit Cards Work?

A credit card is a plastic card issued by a bank or any other financial institution that allows cardholders to borrow funds to pay for goods or services. Credit card holders need to pay back the principal amount and any applicable interest, in accordance with the credit card terms and conditions.
Credit card as a payment method is convenient because your payment transactions are secured and processed immediately. As a result, you can receive your Bitcoin in minutes, if you buy Bitcoin with a credit card. This is not the case when you are using bank wire transfers and some other payment methods to purchase digital assets.

Where to Buy Bitcoin with a Credit Card?

Almost all crypto exchanges and online services such as Cash App and eToro accept credit cards. Cash App supports credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Unlike cryptocurrency exchanges and other online services, Digital Finance makes Bitcoin purchase process really quick and easy. You can instantly buy Bitcoin with credit card on our website. The most common but unfortunately not fastest way to buy Bitcoin is purchasing it with credit card on a cryptocurrency exchange, such as Binance or Coinbase. The issue is that Know Your Customer (KYC) process is time consuming. Because of that, customers usually need to wait several days and are not able to buy Bitcoin until their identity is verified and exchange account is activated. Moreover, some trading expertise is needed to place a buy order and properly execute it on a crypto exchange.

Regulators all over the world require stricter regulations of crypto exchanges, crypto wallets, and other crypto related businesses. Therefore, such companies are forced to be compliant with financial regulations and implement more rigorous and time consuming Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies.
At the same time, we observe a growing demand for online fiat-to-crypto services that can improve customer experience and make Bitcoin purchase process faster and easier. Such companies as MoonPay and Simplex use a simplified KYC process and allow their customers to buy Bitcoin with credit card instantly.

Crypto-Powered - The Most Promising Use-Cases of Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

Crypto-Powered - The Most Promising Use-Cases of Decentralized Finance (DeFi)
A whirlwind tour of Defi, paying close attention to protocols that we’re leveraging at Genesis Block.
https://reddit.com/link/hrrt21/video/cvjh5rrh12b51/player
This is the third post of Crypto-Powered — a new series that examines what it means for Genesis Block to be a digital bank that’s powered by crypto, blockchain, and decentralized protocols.
Last week we explored how building on legacy finance is a fool’s errand. The future of money belongs to those who build with crypto and blockchain at their core. We also started down the crypto rabbit hole, introducing Bitcoin, Ethereum, and DeFi (decentralized finance). That post is required reading if you hope to glean any value from the rest of this series.
97% of all activity on Ethereum in the last quarter has been DeFi-related. The total value sitting inside DeFi protocols is roughly $2B — double what it was a month ago. The explosive growth cannot be ignored. All signs suggest that Ethereum & DeFi are a Match Made in Heaven, and both on their way to finding strong product/market fit.
So in this post, we’re doing a whirlwind tour of DeFi. We look at specific examples and use-cases already in the wild and seeing strong growth. And we pay close attention to protocols that Genesis Block is integrating with. Alright, let’s dive in.

Stablecoins

Stablecoins are exactly what they sound like: cryptocurrencies that are stable. They are not meant to be volatile (like Bitcoin). These assets attempt to peg their price to some external reference (eg. USD or Gold). A non-volatile crypto asset can be incredibly useful for things like merchant payments, cross-border transfers, or storing wealth — becoming your own bank but without the stress of constant price volatility.
There are major governments and central banks that are experimenting with or soon launching their own stablecoins like China with their digital yuan and the US Federal Reserve with their digital dollar. There are also major corporations working in this area like JP Morgan with their JPM Coin, and of course Facebook with their Libra Project.
Stablecoin activity has grown 800% in the last year, with $290B of transaction volume (funds moving on-chain).
The most popular USD-pegged stablecoins include:
  1. Tether ($10B): It’s especially popular in Asia. It’s backed by USD in a bank account. But given their lack of transparency and past controversies, they generally aren’t trusted as much in the West.
  2. USDC ($1B): This is the most reputable USD-backed stablecoin, at least in the West. It was created by Coinbase & Circle, both well-regarded crypto companies. They’ve been very open and transparent with their audits and bank records.
  3. DAI ($189M): This is backed by other crypto assets — not USD in a bank account. This was arguably the first true DeFi protocol. The big benefit is that it’s more decentralized — it’s not controlled by any single organization. The downside is that the assets backing it can be volatile crypto assets (though it has mechanisms in place to mitigate that risk).
Other notable USD-backed stablecoins include PAX, TrueUSD, Binance USD, and Gemini Dollar.
tablecoins are playing an increasingly important role in the world of DeFi. In a way, they serve as common pipes & bridges between the various protocols.
https://preview.redd.it/v9ki2qro12b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=dbf591b122fc4b3d83b381389145b88e2505b51d

Lending & Borrowing

Three of the top five DeFi protocols relate to lending & borrowing. These popular lending protocols look very similar to traditional money markets. Users who want to earn interest/yield can deposit (lend) their funds into a pool of liquidity. Because it behaves similarly to traditional money markets, their funds are not locked, they can withdraw at any time. It’s highly liquid.
Borrowers can tap into this pool of liquidity and take out loans. Interest rates depend on the utilization rate of the pool — how much of the deposits in the pool have already been borrowed. Supply & demand. Thus, interest rates are variable and borrowers can pay their loans back at any time.
So, who decides how much a borrower can take? What’s the process like? Are there credit checks? How is credit-worthiness determined?
These protocols are decentralized, borderless, permissionless. The people participating in these markets are from all over the world. There is no simple way to verify identity or check credit history. So none of that happens.
Credit-worthiness is determined simply by how much crypto collateral the borrower puts into the protocol. For example, if a user wants to borrow $5k of USDC, then they’ll need to deposit $10k of BTC or ETH. The exact amount of collateral depends on the rules of the protocol — usually the more liquid the collateral asset, the more borrowing power the user can receive.
The most prominent lending protocols include Compound, Aave, Maker, and Atomic Loans. Recently, Compound has seen meteoric growth with the introduction of their COMP token — a token used to incentivize and reward participants of the protocol. There’s almost $1B in outstanding debt in the Compound protocol. Mainframe is also working on an exciting protocol in this area and the latest iteration of their white paper should be coming out soon.
There is very little economic risk to these protocols because all loans are overcollateralized.
I repeat, all loans are overcollateralized. If the value of the collateral depreciates significantly due to price volatility, there are sophisticated liquidation systems to ensure the loan always gets paid back.

Investments

Buying, selling, and trading crypto assets is certainly one form of investing (though not for the faint of heart). But there are now DeFi protocols to facilitate making and managing traditional-style investments.
Through DeFi, you can invest in Gold. You can invest in stocks like Amazon and Apple. You can short Tesla. You can access the S&P 500. This is done through crypto-based synthetics — which gives users exposure to assets without needing to hold or own the underlying asset. This is all possible with protocols like UMA, Synthetix, or Market protocol.
Maybe your style of investing is more passive. With PoolTogether , you can participate in a no-loss lottery.
Maybe you’re an advanced trader and want to trade options or futures. You can do that with DeFi protocols like Convexity, Futureswap, and dYdX. Maybe you live on the wild side and trade on margin or leverage, you can do that with protocols like Fulcrum, Nuo, and DDEX. Or maybe you’re a degenerate gambler and want to bet against Trump in the upcoming election, you can do that on Augur.
And there are plenty of DeFi protocols to help with crypto investing. You could use Set Protocol if you need automated trading strategies. You could use Melonport if you’re an asset manager. You could use Balancer to automatically rebalance your portfolio.
With as little as $1, people all over the world can have access to the same investment opportunities and tools that used to be reserved for only the wealthy, or those lucky enough to be born in the right country.
You can start to imagine how services like Etrade, TD Ameritrade, Schwab, and even Robinhood could be massively disrupted by a crypto-native company that builds with these types of protocols at their foundation.

Insurance

As mentioned in our previous post, there are near-infinite applications one can build on Ethereum. As a result, sometimes the code doesn’t work as expected. Bugs get through, it breaks. We’re still early in our industry. The tools, frameworks, and best practices are all still being established. Things can go wrong.
Sometimes the application just gets in a weird or bad state where funds can’t be recovered — like with what happened with Parity where $280M got frozen (yes, I lost some money in that). Sometimes, there are hackers who discover a vulnerability in the code and maliciously steal funds — like how dForce lost $25M a few months ago, or how The DAO lost $50M a few years ago. And sometimes the system works as designed, but the economic model behind it is flawed, so a clever user takes advantage of the system— like what recently happened with Balancer where they lost $500k.
There are a lot of risks when interacting with smart contracts and decentralized applications — especially for ones that haven’t stood the test of time. This is why insurance is such an important development in DeFi.
Insurance will be an essential component in helping this technology reach the masses.
Two protocols that are leading the way on DeFi insurance are Nexus Mutual and Opyn. Though they are both still just getting started, many people are already using them. And we’re excited to start working with them at Genesis Block.
https://preview.redd.it/wf1xvq3z12b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=70db1e9587f57d0c470a4f9f4523c216929e1876

Exchanges & Liquidity

Decentralized Exchanges (DEX) were one of the first and most developed categories in DeFi. A DEX allows a user to easily exchange one crypto asset for another crypto asset — but without needing to sign up for an account, verify identity, etc. It’s all via decentralized protocols.
Within the first 5 months of 2020, the top 7 DEX already achieved the 2019 trading volume. That was $2.5B. DeFi is fueling a lot of this growth.
https://preview.redd.it/1dwvq4e022b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=97a3d756f60239cd147031eb95fc2a981db55943
There are many different flavors of DEX. Some of the early ones included 0x, IDEX, and EtherDelta — all of which had a traditional order book model where buyers are matched with sellers.
Another flavor is the pooled liquidity approach where the price is determined algorithmically based on how much liquidity there is and how much the user wants to buy. This is known as an AMM (Automated Market Maker) — Uniswap and Bancor were early leaders here. Though lately, Balancer has seen incredible growth due mostly to their strong incentives for participation — similar to Compound.
There are some DEXs that are more specialized — for example, Curve and mStable focus mostly only stablecoins. Because of the proliferation of these decentralized exchanges, there are now aggregators that combine and connect the liquidity of many sources. Those include Kyber, Totle, 1Inch, and Dex.ag.
These decentralized exchanges are becoming more and more connected to DeFi because they provide an opportunity for yield and earning interest.
Users can earn passive income by supplying liquidity to these markets. It usually comes in the form of sharing transaction fee revenue (Uniswap) or token rewards (Balancer).
https://preview.redd.it/wrug6lg222b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c47a3f2e01426ca87d84b92c1e914db39ff773f

Payments

As it relates to making payments, much of the world is still stuck on plastic cards. We’re grateful to partner with Visa and launch the Genesis Block debit card… but we still don’t believe that's the future of payments. We see that as an important bridge between the past (legacy finance) and the future (crypto).
Our first post in this series shared more on why legacy finance is broken. We talked about the countless unnecessary middle-men on every card swipe (merchant, acquiring bank, processor, card network, issuing bank). We talked about the slow settlement times.
The future of payments will be much better. Yes, it’ll be from a mobile phone and the user experience will be similar to ApplePay (NFC) or WePay (QR Code).
But more importantly, the underlying assets being moved/exchanged will all be crypto — digital, permissionless, and open source.
Someone making a payment at the grocery store check-out line will be able to open up Genesis Block, use contactless tech or scan a QR code, and instantly pay for their goods. All using crypto. Likely a stablecoin. Settlement will be instant. All the middlemen getting their pound of flesh will be disintermediated. The merchant can make more and the user can spend less. Blockchain FTW!
Now let’s talk about a few projects working in this area. The xDai Burner Wallet experience was incredible at the ETHDenver event a few years ago, but that speed came at the expense of full decentralization (can it be censored or shut down?). Of course, Facebook’s Libra wants to become the new standard for global payments, but many are afraid to give Facebook that much control (newsflash: it isn’t very decentralized).
Bitcoin is decentralized… but it’s slow and volatile. There are strong projects like Lightning Network (Zap example) that are still trying to make it happen. Projects like Connext and OmiseGo are trying to help bring payments to Ethereum. The Flexa project is leveraging the gift card rails, which is a nice hack to leverage existing pipes. And if ETH 2.0 is as fast as they say it will be, then the future of payments could just be a stablecoin like DAI (a token on Ethereum).
In a way, being able to spend crypto on daily expenses is the holy grail of use-cases. It’s still early. It hasn’t yet been solved. But once we achieve this, then we can ultimately and finally say goodbye to the legacy banking & finance world. Employees can be paid in crypto. Employees can spend in crypto. It changes everything.
Legacy finance is hanging on by a thread, and it’s this use-case that they are still clinging to. Once solved, DeFi domination will be complete.
https://preview.redd.it/svft1ce422b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a6afc9e9339a3fec29ee2ae743c07c3042ea4ce

Impact on Genesis Block

At Genesis Block, we’re excited to leverage these protocols and take this incredible technology to the world. Many of these protocols are already deeply integrated with our product. In fact, many are essential. The masses won’t know (or care about) what Tether, USDC, or DAI is. They think in dollars, euros, pounds and pesos. So while the user sees their local currency in the app, the underlying technology is all leveraging stablecoins. It’s all on “crypto rails.”
https://preview.redd.it/jajzttr622b51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=fcf55cea1216a1d2fcc3bf327858b009965f9bf8
When users deposit assets into their Genesis Block account, they expect to earn interest. They expect that money to grow. We leverage many of these low-risk lending/exchange DeFi protocols. We lend into decentralized money markets like Compound — where all loans are overcollateralized. Or we supply liquidity to AMM exchanges like Balancer. This allows us to earn interest and generate yield for our depositors. We’re the experts so our users don’t need to be.
We haven’t yet integrated with any of the insurance or investment protocols — but we certainly plan on it. Our infrastructure is built with blockchain technology at the heart and our system is extensible — we’re ready to add assets and protocols when we feel they are ready, safe, secure, and stable. Many of these protocols are still in the experimental phase. It’s still early.
At Genesis Block we’re excited to continue to be at the frontlines of this incredible, innovative, technological revolution called DeFi.
---
None of these powerful DeFi protocols will be replacing Robinhood, SoFi, or Venmo anytime soon. They never will. They aren’t meant to! We’ve discussed this before, these are low-level protocols that need killer applications, like Genesis Block.
So now that we’ve gone a little deeper down the rabbit hole and we’ve done this whirlwind tour of DeFi, the natural next question is: why?
Why does any of it matter?
Most of these financial services that DeFi offers already exist in the real world. So why does it need to be on a blockchain? Why does it need to be decentralized? What new value is unlocked? Next post, we answer these important questions.
To look at more projects in DeFi, check out DeFi Prime, DeFi Pulse, or Consensys.

Staking Nebilo - How To Guide!

Hey! I’m relatively new to Cryptos and the dark arts of how it ‘really’ works – I got into it because I heard that a friend of a friend had bought $13,000 worth of XRP at $0.30 and sold it all at pretty much the all time high. Naturally you could forgive me for thinking that this is easy!
Since then I’ve tried trading and to be totally honest, it doesn’t play to my strengths. I’m at my best when I find an opportunity and hold (I make no apologies for spelling that correctly either!). I’ve only come across 3-4 coins that have caught my attention so far and I’ve been through nearly all of them in the top 300 and a lot of them outside of that (as well as multiple ICO’s).
Now you know a little bit about my background and how I got into Cryptos – the purpose of this post is to help all the NEBL holders/owners out there understand that by leaving your NEBL in an online exchanges such as Binance you are letting them earn interest on your investment! Nebilo is a Proof of Stake (PoS) coin and PoS is a category of consensus algorithms for public blockchains, which Neblio’s algorithm is a part of. It serves a similar function to the proof of work which underpins the security behind Bitcoin, but has significant advantages in terms of security and energy efficiency.
There are multiple links that I used to get me set up, as well as some really useful help from Telegram user ‘rejoin**’ The only problem was that to someone who has completely no idea about how to use anything other than Microsoft Excel, Word or Powerpoint – answers like ‘it’s simple’ weren’t really what I was looking for.
Cutting to the chase – here is a full guide to help people with ‘staking’ https://nebl.io/2017/07/01/staking-explained/ for the Raspberry Pi 3 – it should however help anyone looking to stake as the basic principles are the same across the board.
Step 1 - Buy the Pi
Assuming that you’re here because you’ve already bought NEBL – the first thing that you need to do is decide what device you want to stake on. Personally I went for the Raspberry Pi 3 (RP3) – it’s low energy consumption and it was as simple as that for me. I bought mine on Amazon for around £45 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Raspberry-Pi-Official-Desktop-Startedp/B01CI58722/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1517059342&sr=1-5&keywords=raspberry%2Bpi%2B3&th=1
Step 2 - Setting up the Pi
The lovely postman turns up and hands you your package – opening it is quite an experience in itself, there is virtually nothing there, apart from a circuit board, power cable and a few bits of plastic. Prepare to be amazed! To get set up – the best work through I found is this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbJB3387xUw
Apologies in advance, but that isn’t Donald Trump. Looks pretty close though.
Step 3 - Download the wallet
There are lots of wallets to choose from - https://nebl.io/wallets/ - but for the sake of this how to guide – make sure you go on your RP3 and download the RP3 wallet.
You can either copy the script from the webpage – or this post. You will need to click on the ‘Terminal’ on the RP3 – paste this exactly into the terminal and it will start to install the wallet. The terminal can be found pinned to the taskbar on the RP3 - it looks a bit like the 'run' feature on Windows.
'curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NeblioTeam/NEBL-Pi/masteNEBL-Pi-Installer.sh | bash -s -- -q'
I don’t know about you – but I was already pretty amazed at this point (doesn’t take a lot… I know).
Step 4 - Syncing
Once you’ve done the step 3, you should be presented with a neblio wallet on your RP3 desktop. We’ll leave that bit there for now – it will need start to sync and you’ll see a certain number of blocks processing etc, so now we need to concentrate on getting yourself set up with a firewall and making sure your RP3 doesn’t power down (if it does, then your node will not count at active and staking will not be live).
Step 5 – Encrypt your wallet
This is a very important part of the process – to stake, your wallet must be unlocked, but encrypted – make sure you take the time here to set a complex password that only you know. To encrypt your wallet – click on ‘settings’ and then ‘encrypt wallet’.
Step 6 – Downloading a firewall
Now you’re welcome to google this (I did when it was explained to me), so once you have – go to your terminal again and type in the following one after another.
sudo apt-get install ufw –y (copy, paste and then press enter)
sudo ufw enable (let it run, copy, paste and then press enter)
sudo ufw allow 6325 (let it run, copy, paste and then press enter)
Step 7 – Setting your RP3 to stay awake (Optional - I did this purely for peace of mind)
There might well be a better way of doing this and if there is, please let me know and I’ll update this post… but this was the best video I found for this was here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWKSTsWwOTk
I went into the feature that you install and set all the minutes to the highest possible values (which I believe are 720 minutes).
Step 8 – Send your NEBL’s
Now that you have your wallet set up with firewall and the RP3 won’t sleep – It’s time to get move your NEBL’s from Binance or whatever other exchange you’re using. Click on ‘receive tokens’ and you’ll be presented with your wallet address. I always send 1 token first to test the route works – yeah you get charged 0.01 NEBL, but for me I prefer the safety route first.
The only thing to note is that it is best to stake in as higher group as possible. If for example you have 1000 NEBL and you transferred them across in 4 batches of 250 – you would have 4 staking groups of 250 each.
If you’re OK with sending them to yourself in one go, then go for it and we’re nearly there!
Step 9 – Unlock your wallet
In order to stake, you must have your wallet open – this allows you to become part of the blockchain and act as a node in the wider Neblio network. Through being open you process the transactions through the network and earn fees.
Step 10 – Wait and earn!
Now that you’ve got all your NEBL’s in your wallet and it is unlocked and encrypted (please make sure you’ve done this!!) it will take 24 hours at least for your coins to mature, you will see a stack of coins in the bottom right hand corner, when these are white it means they are not currently staking. No problem with Tether. Problem solved.

Ok Slight exaggeration, but people need to relax. Decided to see what the hysteria was about. I have a financial background:
1) anybody that has been through the ups and downs of crypto knows that Tether has handled some massive situations heroically and its normal that the peg budged a little during some of those times. Sometimes 1.01 sometimes .98. It happened before. Many times already. Nothing new here.
2) Bitfinex $1,134,419,856 24hr volume fees on transfers and trades + interest on margin= $2,000,000/day at least!
3) massive bitcoin purchases? = massive profits i believe. They were buying when everybody was selling. I think they made a total killing here. Like hundreds of millions or even billions.
4) Tether has huge volume #3 after ethereum! justifying its market cap and price. In fact the price of tether were it not tethered to the dollar would probably be something like $4 at these supply levels. It is greatly undervalued.
5) The tether business model actually does NOT need to be backed by anything!! Now that they have enough USDT coins they will be able to control the price of USDT without having to buy bitcoin by buying and selling USDT.
6) Also, just to compare, people do not realize that neither Chase bank nor any other bank has the capital to backup their deposits. Just a fraction of the capital I don't remember maybe its like 15%. If you did what people are doing to Tether to chase and the US gov didn't step in to save them, even Chase bank would go down. Its like screaming fire in a movie theater. Stop it.
7) Consider, if you had a legit business that was bringing in massive profits every day like Bitfinex/tether would you do something really really stupid to mess that up? Most intelligent people would not. I am not worried.
8) Another clue is that Bitfinex should probably do an ICO and use their coin like binance, but they have not. This would generate millions, obviously, on top of the hoard of cash they already have. They obviously do not need the money.
9) I think they are probably right that the US gov doesn't like tether and is giving them a hard time so I can believe the shielding of their business information is reasonable and they have tried to get the info out their by having well known members of the crypto community check their balances -see news.https://news.bitcoin.com/vouching-bitfinex-and-tethers-bank-accounts-hold-nearly-3-billion-usd/
Anyone that knows anything about financial markets knows that confidence is really important and the wild speculation without doing your homework is very irresponsible and destructive putting everyone at risk. I have done this analysis in literally a few minutes of my time. Granted I have a financial education and trading background, but really any average person should be able to quickly see that Tether isnt going anywhere. Please pass this on so that the scaredy cats can calm down. Dont be lazy people-- do your homework! TetheBitfinex is clearly an amazing business of historic proportions, now if a bunch of pananoid people and other detractors end up bringing them down externally that is not my fault, thats just people being stupid/jealous etc, but internally you do not need to be an auditor to see that it all makes sense as I have just done. Keep in mind that this is the first time in history that the little guys have made it big while Wall st and the 1% watched from the outside looking in. They want nothing more than panic to set in so they can get low prices and I have noticed this with the reporting.
Somebody do a youtube cat video meme with the tether haters freaking out please... I know a cat that jumps in the air when somebody crinkles a plastic bag...
Under normal circumstances, yes the audit thing would be troubling, but these are very much not normal circumstances and there are powerful people that want to see crypto go down. Some people don't seem to be taking seriously the evidence I presented. They have the world's largest exchange their balance sheet gets larger by millions every single day. The way I calculated it they probably already made enough money on their own to back up the tether and frankly I use the tether all the time for trading and I do not care if I can withdraw actual US dollars. I only care that they maintain the price at $1. With the massive profits I belive they have the ability to do that. In other words if every single person sold USDT for ethereum they now have the ability to maintain the price at $1 even in the most extreme situation. This is unprecedented. Even the worlds largest bank cant do that.
Some peoples logic seems to be well it happened to bitconnect therefore it will happen to tether. Did bitconnect have the world's largest exchange backing them /this level of profit? Forget that they make ridiculous amounts of money legitimately for a second and grow stronger everyday. The USDT they "print" is worth I believe around $4 based on demand due it's preeminence importance on exchanges as a trading vehicle and safety zone during downturns. It's sort of like the crypto world's reserve currency along with bitcoin and Ether. That is worth a lot. So I believe they can still legitimately print up to another 6 billion USDT for now based on what the value of USDT is if they wanted to! There are many possibilities with all this. They could get loans for example. Remember unlike other cryptos USDT doesn't go up when millions pour into it so you don't see what it is really worth.
I think people don't understand that they do not need to buy back at this point because they haven't even reached the optimal level of USDT given the demand!
Wow can't believe people are comparing the ponzi bitconnect to tether the crypto world's standard on the largest exchanges backed by the legit profits of the world's largest exchange . Talk about unfair comparison. I think that is a shady comparison. Wall St. shills are out there for sure! Hope they are not you guys....

Waltonchain All-in-One - Extended

Welcome!

I would like to warmly welcome everyone to waltonchain
This is an updated, extended community-written post and I will try to update it regularly over time.
Please respect our rules (see sidebar) and feel free to comment, contribute and ask questions.
Don’t forget to subscribe to the subreddit for any news on Waltonchain!

Getting Started

What is Waltonchain?

The Waltonchain Foundation is building a cross-industry, cross-data sharing platform by integrating Blockchain with the Internet of Things through self-developed RFID Chips with intellectual property rights.
The in-house developed Waltonchain RFID chips integrate a proprietary, genuine random number generator and an asymmetric encryption logic and hardware signature circuit, all of which are patent-protected.
The combination of self-developed RFID chips and the Waltonchain blockchain will ultimately achieve the interconnection of all things and create a genuine, believable, traceable businessmodel with totally shared data and transparent information.
Waltonchain will unfold a new era of the Value Internet of Things (VIoT).

The Project

The Waltonchain team has formulated a 4-phase development plan, starting from infrastructure platform establishment to gradually incorporating retail, logistics and product manufacturing, and to finally achieving the full coverage of the business ecosystem.

As for the phase 1.0 of the project, the team has developed the clothing system integration scheme based on RFID. The application scenarios at phase 1.0 will establish Golden demonstration template
At phase 2.0, our RFID beacon chip will be massproduced and can be used in clothing, B2C retail and logistics.
At phase 3.0, manufacturers will achieve traceable customization of intelligent packaging.
At the project phase 4.0, with the upgrading and iteration of assets information collection hardware and improvement of blockchain data structure, all assets can be registered in Waltonchain in the future.

Groestlcoin Release September 2018

Introduction

As always, the past 3 months since 22nd June have been crazy busy. The bears might still be around, but the show must go on and of course has not slowed the Groestlcoin development team in the slightest. Here’s a quick overview of what has already happened since the last release: - Integrated into the bitbns exchange, with the ability to buy Groestlcoin directly with the Indian Rupee. - Groestlcoin Rebrand Vote – Whilst there was much talk and push for a rebrand vote, the overall result was almost unanimously in favour of keeping our unique and conversation-starting name. With just 83 votes to Rebrand, and 2577 votes to No Rebrand. Thank you for all who voted, the funds raised are being used to fund ongoing hosting and development costs. - Integrated into the Cryptobridge exchange. Cryptobridge is a popular decentralised exchange where you always hold the private keys to your funds, only YOU have access to them. - Groestlcoin has been added to SimpleSwap – Groestlcoin can now be swapped with over 100 other cryptocurrencies, without signing up! - Groestlcoin has been added to UnoDax, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in India, with TUSD, BTC and INR trading pairs. - Groestlcoin has been added to SwapLab.cc, where you can buy Groestlcoin using Bitcoin and over 50 other altcoins. Purchasing with VISA/Mastercard is coming VERY SOON. Discussed later: - Groestlcoin has been listed on #3 largest exchange in the world on volume, Huobi Global! More on this to come further on in the announcements. - Groestlcoin has been added to the Guarda Multi-Currency Wallet. - Groestlcoin has been added to Melis Multi-Device, Multi-Account, Multi-Platform, Multi-Signature advanced wallet! Already this list is far more than most other cryptocurrencies have achieved in the past 3 months. But this is just the tip of the iceberg of what has been developed.

What's been Happening?

GRSPay Released

We are so excited for this, that it has it's own separate reddit thread. Head over there now at https://www.reddit.com/groestlcoin/comments/9ikr5m/groestlcoin_releases_grspay/? to see more on this!

Melis Wallet

The the most advanced wallet for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and now Groestlcoin.
With Melis you have the complete control of your bitcoins and private keys, you can define spending limits policies and make use of two or more factors authentication. Melis is open source, published on GitHub.

How Melis Works?

You can create as many accounts as you want. An account is a part of your wallet that can be customised to your requirements. You can choose how many co-signers are required to spend funds. The accounts are completely independent and act like separate wallets from each other but can be accessed via the same details. A core feature of Melis is the ability to set a ‘primary’ device. With this you can set an account as ‘Secure’ so it is only viewable (and accessible at all) from the Primary device. You can have a savings account hidden from the outside world whilst also having your ‘spending’ funds available on the go. With Melis you can create a multi-signature account between N people, where up to N signatures are required to sign a transaction, choosing if any of those should be mandatory.

Integrated into Blockchain Financial

What is Blockchain Financial?

Blockchain Financial is a set of web based services for individuals and companies that want to make things happen with the Cryptocurrencies Ecosystem. - For those that don't know anything about cryptocurrencies, we offer tools that will let them receive, send and operate with an assortment of coins. - For those that are already riding the wave, we offer tools that will let them do all those things that they weren't able to do.

Blockchain Financials mission

We're not here to reinvent the wheel. We're here to make it run smoother for you, and we provide some of the most useful services you'll find on the internet, made in a way that is easy to understand and use on a daily basis. In short, we're a bunch of people that claim to be Crypto Evangelists. We strongly believe in cryptocurrencies, and our main promise is to push them up so more people get involved and take all the advantages they offer.

More information from Blockchain Financial

Back in 2014, the world was taken by storm when Facebook approved the first cryptocurrencies tipping apps. The first was for Dogecoin, and the second was for multiple coins.
The project was hosted on whitepuma.net, and persisted for almost two years, built up a massive user community and gave a home to Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and dozens of other bitcoin-based altcoins.
After very active months, the tipping hype started to fade away. Then, the developers decided to jump into the next stage: bringing not only tipping, but also mining and a widget that could be embedded on websites to allow everyone to accept payments. Sadly, the work was never completed because the project started to require an unsustainable amount of resources. Then, in a painful decision, a shutdown was announced by December 2015.
A couple of months after whitepuma.net was closed, the source code was released by its creator as Open Source on GitHub. But it wasn't maintained.
Now, some of the original members of the dev and admin teams gathered up with a handful of the WhitePuma's elite users, and decided to make something good with the best pieces of the old source code. That, with fresh new ideas and the power of the BardCanvas engine, synthesized the core of Blockchain Financial.

What's new in version v2.16.3?

This is a major release of Groestlcoin Core fixing a Denial of Service component and a critical inflation vulnerability (https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2018-17144) exploitable by miners that has been discovered in Groestlcoin Core version 2.13.3 and 2.16.0. It is recommended to upgrade to 2.16.3 as soon as possible. If you only occasionally run Groestlcoin Core, then it's not necessary to run out and upgrade it right this second. However, you should upgrade it before you next run it. If you know anyone who is running an older version, tell them to upgrade it ASAP. Stored funds are not at risk, and never were at risk. At this time we believe over half of the Groestlcoin hashrate has upgraded to patched nodes. We are unaware of any attempts to exploit this vulnerability. However, it still remains critical that affected users upgrade and apply the latest patches to ensure no possibility of large reorganizations, mining of invalid blocks, or acceptance of invalid transactions occurs.

The Technicals

In Groestlcoin Core 2.13.3, an optimization was added (Bitcoin Core PR #9049) which avoided a costly check during initial pre-relay block validation that multiple inputs within a single transaction did not spend the same input twice which was added in 2012 (Bitcoin Core PR #443). While the UTXO-updating logic has sufficient knowledge to check that such a condition is not violated in 2.13.3 it only did so in a sanity check assertion and not with full error handling (it did, however, fully handle this case twice in prior to 2.1.0.6). Thus, in Groestlcoin Core 2.13.3, any attempts to double-spend a transaction output within a single transaction inside of a block will result in an assertion failure and a crash, as was originally reported. In Groestlcoin Core 2.16.0, as a part of a larger redesign to simplify unspent transaction output tracking and correct a resource exhaustion attack the assertion was changed subtly. Instead of asserting that the output being marked spent was previously unspent, it only asserts that it exists. Thus, in Groestlcoin Core 2.16.0, any attempts to double-spend a transaction output within a single transaction inside of a block where the output being spent was created in the same block, the same assertion failure will occur. However, if the output being double-spent was created in a previous block, an entry will still remain in the CCoin map with the DIRTY flag set and having been marked as spent, resulting in no such assertion. This could allow a miner to inflate the supply of Groestlcoin as they would be then able to claim the value being spent twice.
Groestlcoin would like to publicly thank Reddit user u/Awemany for finding CVE-2018-17144 and reporting it (https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-core-dev/2018-Septembe000064.html). Groestlcoin EasyVanity Released

Groestlcoin EasyVanity is a Windows app is built from the ground-up in C# and makes it easier than ever before to create your very own bespoke Groestlcoin address(es), even whilst not connected to the internet! You can even generate multiple keys with the same prefix and leave it on overnight whilst your CPU or GPU collects and stores these addresses locally.
If you're tired of the random, cryptic addresses generated by regular groestlcoin clients, then Groestlcoin EasyVanity is the right choice for you to create a more personalized address.

Features

• Ability to continue finding keys after first one is found • Includes warning on startup if connected to the internet • Ability to output keys to a text file (And shows button to open that directory) • Ability to make your match case sensitive (Where possible) • Show and hide the private key with a simple toggle switch, and copy the private key straight to your clipboard • Show full output of commands • Includes statistics whilst the application is running • Ability to choose between Processor (CPU) and Graphics Card (GPU) • Automatically detects 32 or 64 bit systems • Features both a Light and Dark Material Design inspired Themes • EasyVanity's search is probabilistic, and the amount of time required to find a given pattern depends on how complex the pattern is, the speed of your computer, and whether you get lucky. • EasyVanity includes components to perform address searching on your CPU (vanitygen) and your OpenCL-compatible GPU (oclvanitygen). Both can be built from source, and both are included in the Windows binary package. • Prefixes are exact strings that must appear at the beginning of the address. When searching for prefixes, Easyvanity will ensure that the prefix is possible, and will provide a difficulty estimate. • The percentage displayed just shows how probable it is that a match would be found in the session so far. If it finds your address with 5% on the display, you are extremely lucky. If it finds your address with 92% on the display, you are unlucky. If you stop EasyVanity with 90% on the display, restart it, and it finds your address with 2% on the display, your first session was unlucky, but your second session was lucky. • EasyVanity uses the OpenSSL random number generator. This is the same RNG used by groestlcoin and a good number of HTTPS servers. It is regarded as well-scrutinized. Guessing the private key of an address found by EasyVanity will be no easier than guessing a private key created by groestlcoin itself. • To speed up address generation, EasyVanity uses the RNG to choose a private key, and literally increments the private key in a loop searching for a match. As long as the starting point is not disclosed, if a match is found, the private key will not be any easier to guess than if every private key tested were taken from the RNG. EasyVanity will also reload the private key from the RNG after 10,000,000 unsuccessful searches (100M for oclvanitygen), or when a match is found and multiple patterns are being searched for. • Free software - MIT. Anyone can audit the code. • Written in C# - The code is short, and easy to review.

Bittrex to Credit Bitcoin Gold Once Trading Price Hits $1.07

I'm just sitting here laughing because I moved my BTC to Bittrex because they were going to credit BTC Gold to their customers. They did a really great job with BTC Cash, so I though why not. Since the fork BTC Gold has dropped from $500 to $138 as of this writing, and as of yet still no BTC Gold has been credited by Bittrex. At this rate, but the time I get my "Gold" it might as well be called Bitcoin Plastic. Lol, live and learn.
Please look at my past posts. I'm not a shill. I don't pump coins or products. I have bitched about Bittrex keeping my NEO GAS, but nothing else.
Edit: Bitfinex is not an option. I was told Binance was not an option because I'm in the US. I originally posted Binance was not an option. I'm looking into Binance now. Thanks
I found out about Kucoin yesterday, and when I found out they are awarding GAS daily I decide to give them a try. So far I like it. Hopefully, I've found a new exchange. If you're interested in Kucoin follow this linkhttps://www.kucoin.com/#/signup?r=E3aw2N . It includes a code for you to enter which would give me a reward if you sign up. Don't enter my code if you don't want, it's not that important. But check it out either way. They are offering social media rewards, and if you buy their coin they pay you proceeds from all the trading fees. As I'm not trying to sell you, I'm not going to go into a detailed post about what they offer. You can check on that and decide yourself. Also, there are several posts on this thread already that outline what they offer in detail. I know people love links so here is the one to a review of Kucoin https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/kucoin/
I'm hoping Bittrex gets on the ball and starts paying GAS. I'd love to trade there as well.

MOBILE BANKING C3

MOBILE BANKING C3 ALLOWS:
- Make purchases, paying off anywhere in the world.
The user of the platform will be able to get a payment card Crypto Credit
- Card for shopping both on the Internet and in existing payment terminals around the world (including Apple Pay and Android Pay).
Opening an account on the platform will be free. The card issue will be $ 20, service for the first year will not be charged, then it will be $ 10 per year. The payment will be made in the “active account” currency, which means that the user decides which account to bind to the payment card for making transactions.
- Transfer money to other users without commission.
Due to the availability of its own settlement system, transfers between users will be free and instant. Convert currency with minimum commission. The fee for converting crypto currency into fiat and back will be up to 2% of the transaction amount.
DEMAND FOR TOKENS WILL GROW FOR THE EXPENSIVE EXPANSION OF THE CUSTOMER BASE CCCR can be purchased on most exchanges and on its own C3X crypto library. To gain access to the C3 service, users will buy tokens and their price will rise until the balance of supply and demand.
BEGINNING OF SALES OF THE PLASTIC CARD ON THE END OF ICO In order to purchase a plastic card users need to add CCCR tokens to their account. The issue price of the card is $ 20, and for the owner of the tokens there is only 1 CCCR token.
All unused tokens will be destroyed. After the end of the ICO, all unsold tokens will be destroyed.
50% of the company’s profit from cashbacks is used to buy tokens on the stock exchange.
In order to achieve the set objectives, C3 krausejl should reach its minimal goal — $ 3 million. In the event that the sale of CCCR tokens does not reach this minimum, buyers will be refunded their funds spent.
After the completion of the ICO, the CCCR token will be freely traded on all crypto-exchange exchanges. It is planned to list CCCR tokens on non-
How many major exchanges within a month after the completion of the ICO.
Some of the CCCR tokens distributed between team members will not be available for trading in the secondary market within three months of the end of the ICO. Thus, it is planned to avoid the risk of falling costs of tokens.
The CCCR token is a token that will be used inside the C3 platform, as well as in other ways described below:
  1. PAYMENT OF COMMISSIONS OF THE PLATFORM WITH C3 TOKENS. All users of C3 will pay the platform fee only to CCCR tokens. The increase in the number of participants in the C3 platform will lead to an increase in the number of transactions and, accordingly, the total amount of commissions on them. Thus, participants of the C3 platform will need to buy CCCR tokens and pay them a commission of the C3 platform. Consequently, an increase in the number of participants will lead to an increase in demand for C3 tokens and an increase in their value.
  2. POSSIBILITY OF PAYMENT BY TOKENS OF SCR BANKING SERVICES. C3 platform services, such as mobile banking or crypto services broker, can be paid by CCCR tokens.
  3. COST OF SERVICES IN FIAT CURRENCY WILL BE FIXED FOR CLIENTS OF PLATFORM C3. As the growth rate of the CCCR token is projected, the token holder, which acquired them during the ICO at a fixed cost, can save, because the service for him will not increase.
  4. CCCR TOKENS TURNOVER IN BROKERS AND ON EXCHANGES. Within 3 (three) months after the completion of the ICO, it is planned to add a CCCR token to all the most known exchanges. In addition, the services of brokers will be added, which will become participants of the C3 ecosystem.
There is a strong demand from other financial institutions for the data flow of the aggregator C3. In this case, the commission for operations will be paid in the CCCR tokens, which will lead to a significant increase in demand.
  1. BENEFIT FROM PAYMENT OF COMMISSIONS IN THE EXCHANGE WITH C3X TOKENS CCCR. Commissions on the C3X exchange can be paid for by both crypto currency and CCCR tokens. CCCR token is used by default when paying commissions and gives the user a 50% discount.
In July 2017, ICO held an analogous Binance Coin token, which for half a year of its existence managed to get into the TOP-20 among all the altcoys. It was developed on the Ethereum platform and was intended only as an additional tool for the Binance exchange. But immediately after the ICO, the value began to increase significantly, as a result of which depositors received profits more than 100 times, and the price continues to grow.
